Privacy Policy

Short version: Your voice recordings are transcribed and immediately discarded. We never store your audio. We don't sell your data. We don't know who you are.
1. Who We Are
Anger Translator is developed and operated by Waking Dreams, LLC. You can reach us at [email protected].
2. What We Collect
We collect as little as possible to make the app work:
- Voice audio: When you use voice recording mode, your audio is sent to Deepgram (a third-party speech-to-text service) to generate a text transcript. The audio is not stored by us at any point. Deepgram's handling of audio is governed by their privacy policy.
- Text transcripts: The text version of what you say is sent to our server to generate a translation. We log the length of your input for cost tracking purposes but do not store the content of what you said.
- Translation output: The generated translation (Luther's response) and associated audio are stored temporarily on our servers and on Cloudflare's CDN. These are associated with an anonymous device identifier, not your name or email.
- Anonymous device ID: We use a RevenueCat-generated anonymous identifier to track your token balance and purchase history. This ID is not linked to any personal information.
- Token balance and purchase events: We maintain a server-side record of your token balance and purchase history to prevent fraud and ensure purchases are applied correctly.
- App usage logs: Basic server logs (timestamps, error counts, translation count) for operational purposes. These are not linked to personal identity.
3. What We Do NOT Collect
- Your name, email address, or any account information
- Your location
- Contacts, photos, or any other device data
- The full text content of your voice recordings beyond what is needed to process your request
- Any data for advertising purposes
4. Microphone Access
Anger Translator requests access to your microphone solely to enable voice recording for translation. Audio is processed in real time and is not saved to your device or our servers after transcription is complete. You can use the text input mode instead if you prefer not to use the microphone.
5. In-App Purchases
In-app purchases and auto-renewable subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status and purchase verification. We do not receive or store your payment card information. Purchase receipts are validated with Apple's servers to credit tokens and subscription benefits to your account.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the app:
- Deepgram — speech-to-text transcription. Audio is sent to Deepgram's servers and processed per their privacy policy.
- xAI (Grok) — AI text generation. Your transcript text is sent to xAI's API to generate translations. See xAI's privacy policy.
- MiniMax / Replicate — AI voice synthesis. Translation text is sent to generate audio. Data is processed per their respective privacy policies.
- RevenueCat — in-app purchase management. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
- Cloudflare — CDN and DDoS protection for our servers and audio delivery. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
7. Data Retention
- Voice audio: never stored by us (processed and discarded in real time by Deepgram)
- Generated audio files: stored on Cloudflare R2 for up to 30 days, then deleted
- Translation logs: anonymized metadata retained for up to 90 days for cost analysis
- Token balance and purchase records: retained for the lifetime of the account (needed for purchase integrity)
8. Children's Privacy
Anger Translator is rated 17+ and is not intended for use by children under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 17. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your Rights
Since we don't collect personally identifiable information, there is no personal profile to access, correct, or delete. If you want any data associated with your anonymous device ID removed, email us at [email protected] and we'll purge it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with an updated date.
